How do you remind yourself to conduct regular maintenance on your vehicle? Do you use sticky notes, set up calendar reminders or rely on an in-car maintenance reminder system? According to a recent survey from AAA, 63 percent of all auto owners have a built-in electric maintenance reminder system. Out of those individuals, 51 percent rely solely on that system to prompt them to have maintenance work done on their vehicle.
"The advancements in modern maintenance reminder systems take the guess work out of deciding when to take your vehicle in for service," said John Nielsen, director of AAA Automotive Engineering and Repair. "The challenge now is educating consumers to trust that their vehicle will alert them when maintenance is needed."
Maintenance reminder technology is becoming a standard feature in many vehicles, which is why it's not difficult to find used cars with the perk. Consider using auto financing to purchase a car with a built-in maintenance reminder system if you regularly forget to schedule car appointments - it could save you the stress of trying to get an emergency oil change in the future.
