Add a custom touch with a breakfast nook

While the concept of a formal dining area has largely gone the way of the dodo, many homeowners still desire to have a table set aside for eating with the family. The breakfast nook is an ideal solution with its flexibility and functionality. Any member of a home can use the space to eat, pay bills, complete homework and finish other activities, which is how an interior designer or distributor may want to market the space.
Here are three design features to include:
1. Windows. Make a cozy nook seem spacious by encasing the area with windows. Whether you are eating a bowl of cereal or working you can take in the scenery or watch the kids play in the yard.
2. Comfy bench. Consider installing a comfy bench to sit on for one side of the table. This seating arrangement can increase the number of people you can sit at the table during gatherings.
3. Chandelier. A custom lighting piece like a chandelier will create a focal point in the room and draw guests' eyes up - making the room seem larger and more spacious.
