Fall is officially here, and with it comes the warning signs of winter. The air is beginning to feature a bit of a chill, frost is on the ground and the sun is setting earlier in the evenings. If you recently bought a used car with auto financing from Home Loan Investment Bank you may need to make sure your new purchase is ready to for the winter roads.
Here are three ways to winterize your car:
1. Purchase all-weather or winter tires. Place a good set of all-weather or winter tires on your car to reduce the risk of sliding on wet or icy roads. The tires will improve your vehicle's traction, but always remember to exercise caution while driving.
2. Install new windshield wipers. Your driving skills depend largely on your ability to see your surroundings and make the right decisions. Consequently, if ice, snow and sleet are build up on your windshield your driving will suffer. Make sure you have installed strong, high-quality windshield wiper blades on your car.
3. Check antifreeze. Your car requires an antifreeze mixture to ensure that everything remains in working order. Regularly check your antifreeze levels so they do not deplete to an unsafe level.
