What are many Americans looking for in their next used car? According to recent figures from the Vehicle Remarketing Association (VRA), smaller cars are gaining in popularity as more buyers seek used compacts in order to save money by keeping operational costs down.
More potential car buyers are looking to use their auto financing to purchase a small car, or a five-door car for increased practicality, claims the source. With gas prices continuing to rise, family size shrinking and metro populations growing, more people than ever are opting for compact vehicles.
According to Automobile Magazine, the number of B- and C-size passenger cars has grown from 14 percent in 2004 to 21 percent in 2009. That growth indicates an overall market turn from when large SUVs and trucks were the vehicles of choice.
