Predicted housing trends for summer 2012

Potential homebuyers may wish to be aware of emerging trends predicted for the summer of 2012. A number of the trends could impact the market enough to encourage buying if the right residential financing option was made available.
Here are two housing trends slated for summer 2012:
1. Rising rents. The steep incline of rent has stretched American’s pocketbooks enough. Low mortgage rates and decreasing home prices have led more people to consider exchanging their rent check for a mortgage payment.
"Rents are going up, and as long as there are properties at the level where investors can get the positive cash flow, they will continue to invest," said Jed Smith, of Quantitative Research at the NAR, according to Realty Biz News.
2. Decreasing home prices. Home prices have continued to decline in many metro areas. While they are not making as steep a descent seen after the housing bust of 2006, the downward trend is still there and will lure many potential buyers.
