The choice between moving or remodeling is difficult for many homeowners. Not only is there the chance of finding something great on the market, but there is also the risk of losing out. The big question is can you remodel the home you are currently living in to fit your needs?
Top two reasons to apply for home improvement financing and remodel:
1. Location. Location. Location. If you enjoy the local community and the amenities the area has to offer, it can be much harder to replicate that in a new town than to expand a kitchen or transform an attic into a spare bedroom.
2. Financing. If the mortgage is almost paid up, staying in the same home can offer financial security and allow you to avoid debt.
Top two reasons to apply for residential financing and move:
1. Enjoy move-in ready. If remodeling projects put too much strain on you due to the decision making and inconvenience, consider moving into a property that is perfect the way it is. Choose the option that works best with your lifestyle.
2. Decreased quality of life. If your commute is long or there is a lack of quality schools in the area, move to ensure everyone has the greatest opportunity to succeed. Travel time can take a lot out of a person and poor schools can drastically reduce the quality of your children’s education.
