If you are looking to reduce your carbon footprint and limit how often you go to the gas station, consider purchasing a used car with great gas mileage. Use your auto financing option to go green this year.
Here are three vehicles with superior gas mileage:
1. Toyota Prius 2004-2009: 46 MPG. When Americans place great gas mileage and hybrid vehicles in the same thought bubble, the Prius is definitely the first car to come to mind. According to Green Car Reports, you may have to search diligently to find one that has less miles.
2. Mitsubishi i-MiEV: 112 MPG. Consider this electric vehicle for the opportunity to forgo the gas pump. Fuel Economy reports that this subcompact has an annual fuel cost of $550 accrued from the energy used to create the electricity the vehicle runs on.
3. Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid 2009-2011: 21 MPG. For those that need the towing and power of a full-sized truck, there are limited options. However, this sports utility vehicle is one of the greenest choices on the market today, claims Green Car Reports. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rating of 21 MPG is significantly greener than the 17 MPG for the best standard model on the market.
