Healthy new vehicle sales forecasted for September

It appears that September will be another strong month for new vehicle sales, as many consumers looking for affordable auto financing and great deals have had their share of options to choose from.
According to Edmunds.com, more than 1.2 million new vehicle sales are forecasted for this September. If that figure holds, it would be more than 20 percent less than August, but 11 percent above September 2013's totals. Overall, the month has been healthy compared to sales patterns for 2014.
"September sales are consistent with the strength we've seen most of this year," explained Edmunds.com senior analyst Jessica Caldwell. "But the topline sales aren't as interesting as the ways in which shoppers have driven those sales. Buyers have been able to secure low financing deals and have responded to lease offers in record numbers. These are behaviors that bode well for the continued strength of new car sales."
Experts from Kelley Blue Book support the findings from Edmunds.com through their own research. KBB's senior analyst Alec Gutierrez noted that while September's auto sales figures won't be as high as other months this year, they will still be healthy on a year-over-year basis.
