September is shaping up to be one of the better months this year for leasing a new vehicle, according to a report from Cars.com.
New-car incentives are particularly favorable this month, helping contribute to the lower lease deals for consumers. For example, deals are available that include 0 percent auto financing for 60 months or between $2,000 and $6,000 cash back, depending on the make and model of the vehicle.
"September is typically one of the best times of the year to buy a car, and this year is no exception," said Jesse Toprak, chief analyst for Cars.com. "Consumers can choose from a variety of different programs in the marketplace, including 0 percent financing for up to 72 months and cash rebates exceeding $3,000, as well as some of the best leasing specials we have seen in recent years."
If you are interested in leasing soon, make sure you avoid a few common mistakes so your deal is as smooth as possible. According to Bankrate, too many buyers pay a lot of cash upfront, which can increase risk should an accident happen in the few first months of ownership. Another problem people run into is the low-mileage deal. In some cases, you'll get a lease that has smaller payments depending on how far you drive. Don't assume you'll be under that limit without some careful research first.
