As a parent, investing in a new or used vehicle for your child can be a big step. Without the right planning, auto financing and other measures in place, it could become quite challenging. To make matters easier, Kelley Blue Book recently released its list of the best options for back-to-school drivers.
The most affordable and practical on the list was the 2015 Honda Fit, Kelley Blue Book reported. At a purchase price of a little below $16,000, this makes a good option for student drivers. Also on the list were the 2014 Kia Soul, the 2014 Nissan Versa Note and the 2014 Mazda Mazda3, among others.
"The redesigned 2015 Honda Fit came to the head of the class as our No. 1 Back-to-School Car this year with the most flexible interior you'll find in a subcompact car, boasting an affordable price while simultaneously offering the same sporty fun and refinement for which the Honda brand is well known," explained Jack Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for KBB.com.
When buying a car for your child, you should first determine if you want to go new or used. Older cars today are in pretty good shape compared to years past, but you should still do plenty of research on the model to determine if it is the best fit for you.
