Today's culture and climate are changing, with a surging economy and other trends making it easier for some to buy a new home. That means sellers may soon have more interest, and now could be the perfect time to invest some home improvement financing into the property.
According to Zillow, millennials and baby boomers tend to want the same thing when it comes to real estate. For example, style and practicality are extremely desirable traits for a home. Millennials look for casual spaces, such as an open kitchen that can be easy for entertaining. Boomers want optimal style and design features.
In addition, Zillow explained that a clean, move-in ready home is on the top of the list for both demographics. So, current sellers should prioritize getting their properties ready for the next buyer.
Moreover, Next Avenue, a Forbes Contributor, noted that some home trends are starting to change, and this could impact buyers and sellers. For instance, the once-popular neutral wall tones have given way to more bold, bright colors.
"There's been a popular belief over the years that painting your walls a neutral, off-white is the best thing to do for homebuyers, but our research tells us differently," Sherry Chris, president and CEO of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, told the news source. "We find that bold colors work very well."
