Thanks in part to better weather, stronger economic conditions and affordable auto financing, people across the country have been incredibly interested in buying a vehicle. This has led to a higher number of sales for the month of April, with many manufacturers reporting improved figures and impressive profits.
One such company was Subaru of America, which noted 40,083 vehicle sales for April 2014. That represents a 22 percent uptick compared to the same time last year, and 29 months in a row of year-over-year growth.
"We continue to attract more and more first time owners to the brand," said H. William Cyphers, senior vice president of sales for Subaru of America. "Demand for Subaru product has never been higher, and I thank our retailers for efficiently managing their vehicle inventories. We are on track for another record year!"
Subaru wasn't alone with great sales, however. Another manufacturer with a strong April was Kia. The company set a record for the month with 53,676 vehicles sold, up 12.9 percent on a yearly basis. Top performers included the Optima and the Soul, and April marked another quality performance for the brand.
