Vehicle buyers interested in affordable auto financing have a wide range of quality choices available to them, but one specific segment - the small sport utility vehicle - is predicted to perform especially well in the coming months.
According to Cars.com, small SUVs have increasingly gained popularity over sedans and light pickup trucks. In February, the market share for small SUVs hit 18 percent, a record for that type of vehicle.
"The growth of the small SUV segment is undeniable and it's extremely likely that the future lists - starting this spring - will include more small SUVs as well as higher rankings for the existing ones," said Jesse Toprak, chief analyst for Cars.com. "Models such as the Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 and Nissan Rogue now appeal to a much wider consumer base due to their functional nature, affordable price points and low cost of ownership."
In addition, several other SUVs have been deemed to be a great deal, according to Kelley Blue Book. The Nissan Pathfinder and the Ford Flex both cracked the list for best lease options, thanks to their functionality and affordability.
Jack Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book, stated that buyers should be confident because of the number of affordable options on the market.
