When it comes to finding affordable auto financing and picking that next new vehicle, buyers have a number of exciting options. Even so, many people have already chosen, and their most popular pick has been the pickup truck.
According to data released by Cars.com, three truck options - the Ford F-Series, the Chevrolet Silverado and the Ram Pickup - were the best sellers throughout December and 2013 as a whole. Last month, Ford's premier pickup sold 74,592 units, far above the second place Silverado's 42,593 units.
The love wasn't limited to trucks, though. Cars.com reported that the Honda Accord was the fourth best-selling vehicle in December, with 32,321 units sold, and 9.8 percent higher than the same time in 2012. Close behind were the Honda Civic, CR-V and Nissan Altima.
According to Kelley Blue Book, many different brands were popular with buyers interested in auto financing across the U.S. In the West region, electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla was king, followed by Scion. The Northeast region saw makers Subaru and Volvo sell well. On the other hand, companies such as Buick, Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz were unpopular in select locations throughout the country.
