More people are satisfied with their Tesla Model S than any other vehicle, according to Consumer Reports recent Owner-Satisfaction Ratings.
For those interested in auto financing for their next vehicle, the rankings could shed some light on a competitive marketplace with a number of choices.
While Tesla scored the best - 99 out of 100 - it is costly, at more than $89,000, Consumer Reports explained. Other options with a more affordable price tag also fared well, like the Volkswagen Golf TDI and the Subaru Forester. Other best-in-class options included the Porsche Boxster, Audi A6, Mazda 6 and Dodge Charger.
Traditionally, luxury-makers perform quite well in the Consumer Reports ratings. However, those looking for affordable auto financing might be pleased to see more cost-friendly vehicles perform well this year. Some expensive options might have had their luster wear off.
Anita Lam, Consumer Reports automotive data program manager, explained in a statement that novelty can propel a car to the top of the rankings, although a lot can change once people realize a vehicle isn't special.
In addition, the best selling vehicles often include pickup trucks, according to Forbes. While fuel efficiency often gets a lot of attention, better designed trucks and lower gas prices have led this segment to the front of pack.
