When potential vehicle buyers are shopping for affordable auto financing and a new vehicle, money could be saved with a nice trade-in.
According to a recent report by Kelley Blue Book, no other automaker holds up as well as Honda when it comes to resale value. The vehicle valuation source awarded the 2014 Honda Accord, 2014 Plug-in Hybrid Accord and the 2014 Civic Si with the Best Resale Value Award. These cars were projected to retain the most value following five years of ownership.
"Honda earns three segment awards this year and a seat in the Top 10 with its impressive lineup," said Eric Ibara, director of residual consulting for Kelley Blue Book. "Repeating their category wins for the 2014 model year, Honda Accord, CR-V and Civic Si live up to its high expectations, continuing to dominate among competitors."
In addition, data and consulting firm ALG also praised Honda, and awarded the company its second straight Residual Value Award and title of Best Mainstream Brand. ALG supported the claims made by Kelley Blue Book, believing that Honda's vehicles will hold onto a high percentage of their original price after three years.
Therefore, these vehicles may make for smart investments for those interested in auto financing, as a fair amount of the sale price can still be earned back at a much later date.
