A new study by research company YouGov BrandIndex has reported that Ford is now the leader in public perception.
Picking the right car to purchase with auto financing is a big task, and when consumers were asked which manufacturers they looked at in the most favorable light, the top answer was the American maker.
In close second was Honda, with a Buzz score of 19.5. The numbers are generated from surveys gathered between January and June, and averaged to get a total. The higher the score, the more positive public perception is. Ford took the top spot with a score of 31, according to BrandIndex.
The biggest change belonged to Chevrolet, which saw an increase of 4.5 on a year-over-year basis. Rounding out the top five were Toyota and Volkswagen.
In addition, Ford and Honda are both looking to increase production in response to the high demand, according to Bloomberg.
"We're still looking at how we get more out of every plant, and that'll be a focus for as long as the demand is as strong as it is," Ford's vice president of North American manufacturing Jim Tetreault told reporters.
More people are buying using auto financing, and sales figures have even left the Ford Fusion is short supply, Bloomberg reported. Honda also intends to invest an additional $215 million in an Ohio plant, in order to meet expectations.
