The residential real estate market took a while to regain its footing following the Great Recession and housing crisis. However, 2016 saw some significant improvements across the country, with higher volumes of mortgage applications and housing purchases than recorded in the past few years. A couple of East Coast cities are now expected to enjoy solid growth in real estate values.
CBS News, citing data from Zillow, explained that Philadelphia's housing market is forecast to increase by 2.8 percent in 2017, which is notable given the relative lack of growth in the City of Brotherly Love of late. What's more, New York, which happens to be the single largest real estate market in the country, is likely to grow by 3.6 percent, which would be above average, the news provider noted. This makes both markets strong options when choosing where to purchase a home.
When in need of a residential financing program, always consider discussing the mortgages available with a local bank agent, as these professionals can help to ensure you make the best possible choice. Happy hunting!
