Are you in the market for a new car? If so, then you aren't alone. A recent poll from Edmunds.com found that nearly half of the Chicago Auto Show attendees intend to buy over the next 12 months.
When questioned, 44 percent of the respondents expressed a desire to buy in 2015. That figure increases to 70 percent when looking over the next two years. In addition, 83 percent said that their households use two or more cars per day, while 39 percent use at least three vehicles.
Don't forget that buying a new car is a significant financial investment. Do your research ahead of time to make the right choice about auto financing and vehicle type.
"Auto shows certainly draw their share of car enthusiasts, but smart shoppers will find that these shows can really help them narrow down the vehicles that they're considering," said Edmunds.com consumer advice editor Carroll Lachnit. "If you're in the market for a new car, auto shows offer an unparalleled way to get a hands-on feel for all of the cars on your list in a very short period."
Furthermore, research will help you narrow down the direction you want to go in. Do you want to lease or buy? Go used or new? Remember to price your old car as well, to determine its trade-in value.
